This has been a record-breaking month on MixTogether & Friends.

The previous record for visitors was in December, and that was driven by a single link from Iain Dale‘s website. This month we have smashed the December figure using only the power of search engines.

We are the only blog that has given any prominence to the stories concerning Aliza Mirza, Maleha Masud and Aamir Siddiqi. These stories- especially the murder of Aliza Mirza- have generated record traffic as our posts have consistently featured on page 1 of Google searches.

MixTogether is making its voice heard. We are now the UK’s leading blog on honour crimes and related social issues, and we will continue to speak out. With a high-profile readership, and press interest now starting to materialise off the back of our blog posts, we are setting the agenda for the next parliament.

MixTogether & Friends breaking new records

April has already become the busiest and most successful month we have ever had on MixTogether & Friends.

Last December held the previous record with 2,113 unique visitors, but that was all due to one link from the mighty Iain Dale. This month’s traffic has been driven purely by Google searches, because we are the ONLY blog that has given prominent coverage to cases like Aliza Mirza. So-called ‘progressive’ blogs have stopped giving prominence to Asian social issues, leaving us as the only voice for some of the most vulnerable members of our society.

Full statistics to follow at the end of the month, but rest assured they are good.

This month’s figures reflect the continued interest in posts concerning the BBC Asian Network, and the strong Google positioning our Asian Network posts have earned.

However the highest number of searches for a single issue have been for Geeta Aulakh. I am glad we have been able to offer news on the Geeta Aulakh trial that has not been picked up by the media.

Other popular searches were for: news on the Nasim Jamil trial; Rahala Noor (George Osborne’s Bangladeshi sister-in-law); and Anushka Asthana.

Thanks as ever to all readers and commenters, old and new.

Blogging was light in February, but numbers were boosted by our Google rank in searches for ‘BBC Asian Network’. We are second on the list, above Wikipedia! A little SEO goes a long way, and we would like to welcome new readers who have found the blog in recent days.

Thanks as always to all readers and commenters.

Stay tuned for more inside info on campaigns that are too radical for the progressive establishment.
